ERAE information :

The European Review of Agricultural Economics now accepts review articles, and the ERAE Editors welcome proposals for review articles from EAAE members. Review articles should provide a comprehensive and scholarly account of a topic that has direct relevance to agricultural economics (methodological or applied) and that has not recently been covered in the literature. A pre-submission enquiry is required. If you are interested in writing a review article for ERAE, please send an abstract, outline, and key references to erae.editorialoffice@oup.com .               

ERAE Awards 2022

The Editors of the European Review of Agricultural Economics have chosen the Outstanding Journal Paper for 2022 and the winners of the Referee Awards. The 2022 Award for the ERAE Outstanding Journal Paper goes to Yazeed Abdul Mumin and Awudu Abdulai for their paper “Social networks, adoption of improved variety and household welfare: evidence from Ghana” published in the European Review of Agricultural Economics, Volume 49, Issue 1, January 2022, Pages 1–32, https://doi.org/10.1093/erae/jbab007.

The Referee Awards recognise the contribution of referees to the success and profile of the ERAE and, in a number of cases, the considerable value they add to papers that are finally published in the ERAE. In their selection procedure, the editors considered typical referee qualities as willingness to review, speed and content of the review in terms of relevance, exhaustiveness, constructiveness and consistency in follow-up.

The 2022 winners are: Simone Cerroni (University of Trento), Jeff Luckstead (Washington State),

Kelvin Mashisha Shikuku (International Livestock Research Institute) and Christian Vossler (University of Tennessee).

Q Open makes progress

Our open access journal Q Open is making progress:

• The first issue of 2023 (volume 3) is progressing nicely.
• We have been informed by Scopus that they have accepted Q Open for indexing. This is an important first step in being included in the major indexes and achieving an impact factor.
• Q Open has put in place author guidelines so as to enable registered studies to be submitted.
• We have a new manuscript transfer arrangement with the ERAE. Manuscripts submitted to the ERAE, but considered a better fit with the objectives of Q Open can now transferred directly for consideration for publication.
• Q Open is also well on track to reach key-performance indicators on growth in the number of manuscripts and in the turn-around time for review.
• We will shortly be publishing a special issue entitled ‘Evidence-Based Agricultural and Food Policy: The Role of Research for Policy Making’. We would like to thank Nadja El Benni, Christian Grovermann and Robert Finger for all their hardwork in making this happen.

Finally, we need further support from you.

Q Open invites EAAE members who have written a paper for the EAAE congress in Rennes to submit the paper to the journal. We hope to publish many of the papers before the end of the year. See our website for submission details: https://academic.oup.com/qopen
