ÖGA conference 2018

The ÖGA conference 2018 took place from 27 to 28 September at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. The topic is "Methods for an evidence-based agricultural policy. Experiences, demand and new developments."

Events on 26th of September 2018

On 26th September 2018, the day before the ÖGA-conference, there were two events hosted by ÖGA.

  • Preconference on "Evaluation of Gender Equality in Rural Development Programmes". For details see (in German only).
  • Workshop of the  "Research network on Economic Experiments for the CAP" (REECAP). For details see www.reecap.org (in English only).

Participants of the ÖGA conferences were welcomed to join these two events, no additional fees applied!

Registration

Please register the latest until 15th August 2018 using the Online form (Registering after 15th of August will be possibel as well, but it makes planning more difficult for the organizing committee). After online registration, you will recive an email asking you to wire transfer the registration fee (€90 plus €40 if you take part at the field trip). In case you need an invoice, please email to ulrich.morawetz@boku.ac.at after online registration.

 

Venue

The conference takes place at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Department of Economics and Social Sciences, Feistmantelstrasse 4, 1180 Vienna. The venue is located in a residential area next to a big park ("Türkenschanzpark") located about 50 minutes by public transport from the main station (station 'Wien Hauptbahnhof') in about 30 Minutes from the station "Meidling" (most trains stop here as well) and in 20 minutes to the city center (e.g., Station 'Schottentor').

Getting around in Vienna

For planing your trips in Vienna you can use the webpage https://anachb.vor.at/

You can get to the workshop venue with the buses 10A, 37A and 40A (get off at station "Dänenstraße" and walk to "Guttenberg Haus" on the map above).

Single tickets (2,40€) for public transport are valid for one trip (including all changes between bus, tram, metro&trains). Tickets are available at vending machines in metro stations, in trams, at tabacconists and through an app (tickets cannot be bought on buses). A ticket for 1 day is 5.80€, for 24h 14.10€ and for 48h 17.10€. For details on available tickets use the webpage of the Wiener Linien.

For trips from/to the airport ('Flughafen Wien Bahnhof') it is cheapest to use the federal railways ÖBB (4.10€). Alternatively the CAT-railway (€11) and the Airport bus (8€) may be used. A taxi to the airport can be ordered online for 28 Euros www.vienna-airport-cab.at/.
