Call for an EAAE session for the 2018 AAEA annual meeting in Washington D.C., August 5-7, 2018

We are seeking proposals for an EAAE session. We encourage in particular those members who wish or plan to go to Washington D.C.

The EAAE session should focus on a specific theme and follow the form of organized symposia involving a coherent set of 2-4 papers or symposia offering a panel discussion. Session proposals should include session title, session rationale, names and contact information for the organizer and other participants and a description of the session content.

Session proposals must be sent to the EAAE secretariat (eaae@wur.nl) before 28th of February 2018.

The EAAE Board will select the session which will be flagged as the EAAE session.

The European Review of Agricultural Economics is searching for a Book Review Editor

Closing deadline: February 1st, 2018

The European Agricultural and Applied Economics Publications Foundation, in short EAAEP Foundation, is seeking to appoint a new Book Review Editor for the European Review of Agricultural Economics. The new appointment is to replace Miranda Meuwissen who steps down at the end of 2017.

The Book Review Editor is responsible for securing relevant review copies, developing the existing pool of reviewers, and guiding the ERAE’s book review section. We anticipate reviews of 3 to 5 books in total distributed over the five issues published per year.

Candidates should be familiar with the agricultural economics profession in Europe, have an extensive knowledge of the relevant literature and an international network of contacts. They should also have proven reviewing expertise and a publishing record. Experience as a member of the Editorial Board of a scientific journal is an advantage.

A real opportunity for the right candidate, this position requires a commitment of four years. An annual honorarium of €928, index-linked, is paid by the publisher. The Book Review Editor will share in setting editorial policy for the journal.

Reminder ‑ Call for proposals for review articles in ERAE

The European Review of Agricultural Economics has introduced a new section for review articles, and the ERAE Editors welcome proposals for review articles from EAAE members. Review articles should provide a comprehensive and scholarly account of a topic that has direct relevance to agricultural economics (methodological or applied) and that has not recently been covered in the literature. A pre-submission enquiry is required. If you are interested in writing a review article for ERAE, please send an abstract, outline, and key references to erae.editorialoffice@oup.com
