Aus dem Einladungstext:

In June 2018 the "1st European Symposium on Livestock Farming in Mountain Areas" will be held in Bozen-Bolzano in South Tyrol, Italy. The symposium exclusively focuses on mountain livestock farming and covers a broad range of thematic fields such as animal husbandry and breeding, agricultural economics, landscape conservation and social sciences related to mountain livestock.

For three days the vibrant city of Bozen-Bolzano, surrounded by the Alps with its UNESCO world heritage of the Dolomites, its wine and fruit yards and its mountain farms will host this event interconnecting science and people.

Organized by the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, the Eurac Research Centre, Fibl Switzerland and the Università degli studi di Padova in cooperation with the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP), oral presentations, invited keynote speakers and poster presentations frame the program which will be completed by field trips to local farms and industry.

We invite researchers from all over Europe to submit and present their work at the symposium and to discuss the future of mountain farming.
